Color Me Potter: Moonbeam Textile Company

Hi everyone! I feel as though I’ve been run over by a truck recently, as the flu hit us hard. So this post is going to be short and sweet. I really just wanted to let you all know that there is a new round out at Moonbeam Textile Company and it is incredible!

I absolutely adore this round from Moonbeam Textile Company! I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan, but still love it, since I read all the books when I was younger. This round is full of great panels with fun quotes, naughty panels, bright colors and lots of fun details. I especially love the notebook paper prints, with the added “holes” and lines, to make it seem more realistic. The cotton lycra base is thick and soft and sews up like a dream, just like all the other Moonbeam prints I’ve used in the past! Here is a collage I made with a lot of the panels and prints, but not all of them! You can find the rest of them here on the Moonbeam Textile Co website.

For this round, I received 3 panels and a full yard of coordinate. It was right before I started feeling badly (thank goodness!), so I whipped up some of my favorite pattern pieces and snapped photos to share. For my shirt, I used the slim dolman pattern from Halla Patterns. You can find it on their website and the code to make it free is in their facebook group’s pinned post.

For my pants, I used the Chelsea pants pattern from Greenstyle creations. It’s seriously one of my favorite pant patterns! Super easy to create and leaves you with something that is comfortable like a pair of leggings, but looks more structured and dressier. I had to do a bit of colorblocking to make the panel work for my leg, but think it added a nice little pop of color and works well. They are definitely a bit “loud,” but I love that about them. The song from Journey is one of my favorites from childhood, so I can’t help but sing it everytime I read the panel! Makes it a ton of fun, I think!

Now, for the thing I’m always a bit embarrassed to share….the undies! I still can’t get over the feeling of being a bit silly, taking photos of myself in underwear, regardless of how classy I try to make the photos. So I apologize in advance if you don’t care to see my bum. This panty panel was just begging to be made into some scrundies from Stitch Upon A Time patterns. It’s one of my most used patterns, and I love doing the “cross front hack,” that I found via the Facebook group files a little while back. I love this panel and how “cheeky” it is, if you will! haha.

So what do you think? I hope you enjoyed seeing my makes! The Color Me Potter round is open until February 21st, but I would highly suggest heading over to check it out asap, as the prints are super fun and definitely necessary for those who love Harry Potter, quotes, or just gorgeous custom fabric! You can find them all here, in the preorder section!: https://moonbeamtextilecompany.grsm.io/mermaidmamadesigns1930

As always, thank you so much for reading and have an incredible day!
