Sunday Heart to Heart: My top 10 wishes for my children (Vlog)

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a fabulous day!

I’ve recently challenged myself to share more of my life with my online friends. As a mother of 4, wife, friend, photographer, sewist, DIY project enthusiast…etc, etc…life can get a bit crazy.  I absolutely love sharing all my projects with you. But as much as I love sharing my pretty things, I feel like I’ve left a lot of my life out of the picture. It was never my intention, but that’s what happened. My life is far from perfect and I think I was worried that I would be judged or embarrassed for the things that would inevitably pop up from time to time. But what mom doesn’t have those fears, right? Who among us is perfect?

Sooo…I’m going to begin sharing everything (well, maybe not EVERYTHING).  I will be posting a lot more from my life. I’m on a mission to share more of myself with you. I want you to be able to know me for exactly who I am. I want to share my stories with you, both past and present. Most of the vlogging and day to day posts will probably just be on the YouTube channel, as I don’t want to completely saturate this blog with every single thought. But the things I feel are relevant or important, I’m going to share here as well, like this one from today.

Today’s vlog is titled “Sunday Heart to Heart Vlog: My Top 10 Wishes for My Children”. You can find it, along with a few other videos, on my YouTube channel. I’m also attaching the video at the bottom of this post, so that you can watch it here if you would rather. I go a bit more in depth into why I chose these specific things in the video, but here are the

10 wishes I have for my children:

1. that they will always have their health (mental, spiritual, physical).

2. that they will be humble.

3. that they will know the importance of hard work.

4. that they will always have enough money to be comfortable (not RICH. COMFORTABLE.).

5. that they will be responsible for/make their own happiness. (or find it within themselves)

6. that they will love what they do and do it well.

7. that they will never experience crippling depression or anxiety.

8. that they will have lots of kids…when they’re older (for me to play grandma to).

9. that they will find the right kind of partner. (one who compliments their strengths and weaknesses).

10. That they will always be kind to everyoneespecially those who need it most.

These are only a few of the things I want for my children, but if I have to narrow it down to only 10, these would be the ones, I think. I’m confident that I missed some important things, but this was a spur of the moment project. What goals do you have for your children or what would you like to see them have/be in the future? Are there any specific things you feel your children should learn that they haven’t yet?

I have days where I feel like I am completely failing my children. I feel like I should be teaching them more life lessons and more important things, but the days just FLY BY and at the end of every day, I’m so tired. Sometimes it’s a struggle just to keep them alive and healthy! There are other days where I feel blessed and am proud of the things I HAVE taught them. But it’s a toss up as to what the day will feel like. Luckily, every day with them is a chance to teach them more and hopefully, to show them the things that I hope they can learn before they’re grown. Motherhood is an amazing thing, isn’t it?
